When I was a little girl, growing up in Newcastle NSW, I dreamed of going to university one day. I heard stories about The University of Sydney as a place for “brainy” people…so that ruled me out, so I thought. Decades later, I was given the opportunity to study my masters of special education at The University of Sydney! As I walked through the beautiful grounds, on my first day, I reflected on the small child who thought this moment to be out of her reach. Later, I took her by the hand in the Great Hall, to receive a PhD. I love the university as much today, as ever, and am still in awe of it as a place where great thinkers came and contributed…I am honoured and humbled to have my book mentioned in this recent edition of the bulletin! I say to myself, and I say to you…never give up and don’t limit your dreams http://sydney.edu.au/education_social_work/bulletin/
